    McAfee Hosed in Windows 7 Beta


    For millions who decided to download and try out a free version of Microsoft's Windows 7 Beta, who also have been subscribed to McAfee virus protection, a rude awakening may be in store. Like with Vista-based PCs that have been running Internet Explorer 8 in beta form, PCs that run Windows 7 Beta can't run McAfee Total Protection or antivirus.

Had an existing install of the 10.4's that were fine. Pulled down the 10.5's to see if the BFBC2 fix really worked. Went straight into the install of the 10.5's and it blue screened during the actual install part (not sure if it was during driver, ccc, etc), but was after the directory selection...
When Windows 7 RC expired on my Gaming PC, it did a lot more than reboot every two hours, it's made the HDD it was installed on completely unaccessible. Yesterday when the RC epxired I got a blue screen that said it encountered a fatal error that was along the lines of "product expired". ...

Wasn't sure where to post this. I'm hoping someone has an idea because I have tried many things and not yet found a solution anywhere. I have Vista installed on a 750GB hard drive with a second partition. I created a 3rd partition. I then do a clean install of Win 7 from the upgrade DVD on the...
Note that this is the beta software and comprises ONLY Anti-virus and firewall protection. Beta Products | Home & Home Office | McAfee Their forum has some posts about it already. x86 seems to be OK and x64 seems to have one or two issues.
