    comodo antivirus firewall

    morning all,

have successfuly installed comodo 3, by setting the installer as vista compatibility.

i ran kapersky for a few days, but was fedup with the mass onslaught of programm access queiries.

i am having a slight problem with the firewall side of comodo: i know that it works when i can the 'stop activity' button and it shuts everything down, but when running leak test, the firewall does not respond, i have it on safe mode.

the incoming/outgoing monitor also shows no connections, could this be the problem? the program not communicating with windows correctly?

    thanks

I know that allot of people are using COMODO so someone should be able to help but I decided to just give the Windows firewall a chance, I mean whats so bad about trying it before using a 3rd party app.

I've the same problem with Comodo Firewall (I didn't install the antivirus) : it looks work but it show no traffic (however it detects when a programm try to connect to the internet)
I had the sam problem on Vista, but not on XP.
I someone have a solution or an idea please...

Is it a good idea : deactivate Comodo firewall, use Windows firewall and Comodo Defense+ (it works perfectly on Windows 7) ?

after tried a few things with comodo, i have reserved myself to uninstalling and running kapersky.

there was nothing wrong with comodo AV, only the firewall not detecting connections ( i checked with leaktest.exe)

kapersky works fine and runs on minimal resources (1464k right now, usually around 5000k) and i will wait for comodo

thanks to all for ur help

the reason i believe is because they havent coded it yet for 7 (as you know it is based on the vista kernel but it is changed fundamentally on the inside...)

a new beta came up but still the same issue of having to change compat. mode to vista...

I have installed Comodo 3.5... and having the same problems as everyone else.

Using XP for the past 5 years with Zone Alarm & Love Zone Alarm. Of course, Zone Alarm has its Vista and Windows 7 issues.. so I cannot use Zone Alarm.

I have also tried PC Tools and still no luck..

No one seems to be working with making there programs work with Windows 7 until Micorsoft makes does the Windows 7 retail release.... which is unfortunate.. Why wait until then? Just make everything work during the beta stage.. Windows 7 is a great fast platform...

Are there ANY GOOD firewalls that work with Windows 7?

The last version of Comodo can run properly on Windows 7, but it's a quite hard to make it possible: I launched the extractor which launched the installer. With Task Manager I located the executable of the installer and copied it on the Desktop. Then I canceled the installation.
I applied Vista compatibility settings for the Comodo installer on my desktop, then install Comodo Firewall normally: it works without any problem.
When I tried without compatibility settings, Comodo didn't work, and the diagnostic tool couldn't repair the firewall.

I hope it can help you...

    Comodo CIS

I can confirm what SP07 said. Just download the latest and run compatability as Vista. This works for 64 bit version too. Thanks SP07, saved me a bit of head scratchin'.
