    This is a 'Backdoor' Trojan.
Some Win32:Virus/Ramnit.AF infections contain trojan and keyloggers which can be used to steal sensitive data like passwords, credit card, bank account information etc.

Hello wysiwyg49 and welcome to the forums

If you want to wipe the hard drive, reconnect it and then boot from your Windows DVD and install Windows again, making sure that you format the drive when asked.

If you don't have a Windows DVD, then you could use DBAN to wipe the drive:

Won't allow the Windows DVD, over rides it.

Downloaded DBAN to CD still no joy, does nothing.

It seems to block anything from the DVD drive

Are you booting from DBAN? Did you burn the .ISO or just copy it? The Ramnit infection has no control over your BIOS settings so it shouldn't be stopping you booting from a CD/DVD :)
