@DarrylLicht --- i assumed that when i read the second one....
Wait, but are you SURE no one is coming to get me?
lol just kidding
First off, let me say that you are the ONLY person that has truly made me feel better by what you just posted, and for that I am very greatful. YOu are also the first person that has truly tried to help me.
Im am so sorry to be paranoid about and everything, and yes you are right Im not very computer savvy at all. In fact, after this whole thing I want to take classes in it to learn more...serioulsy. But I suffer from a very bad anxiety disorder (seriously) and Im sure this thread is proof of that. Again, Im so sorry for being paranoid.
For the life of me though, I can not figure out why that was showing up as SOC, but after doing a lot of the things you said, and others, it has seemed to disappear for the past 24 hours at least.
Thank you so much. And if your ever in my area, Ill buy you a beer....in fact I need one after this. *takes deep breath*
Wait, are you sure?
Do you think you can believe my answer Frank? Seriously. I cant talk a blind man into seeing. And explanations are futile. With such anxiety it becomes a vicious cycle and quickly turns to paranoia. And that can be dangerous. I'm very serious. you need to as many people put it "let it go" I think thats kinda cliché, but you just need to blindly believe it, because logic and other traditional means are not getting to you. You are safe. And I wouldn't tell you that if I thought I even had a 0.001% chance of being wrong. I consider you a friend. so id like to see you not thinking about that type of unnecessary stuff when you coud be enjoying your system.
Thank you Mike. You are very nice guy and have honestly made me feel better. Too be honest, I have gotten great help with my anxiety in the past, but this whole situation made it flare up again. So, ...lets just say I already made an appt to see my doctor again. Its just if you knew my past roommate, youd probably be as paranoid as me. He was not a good guy, and I have no clue what he was doing online. But, like you said, I shouldnt worry about it because none of this is someone trying to get me. Its just the whole SOC thing that set me off. I still cant figure out how that happened, but it appears to have gone away.
Thank you so much for helping me in this situation. Peace of mind is the best gift you can give anyone, and for that, I am forever in your debt.
if it says SOC again, ignore it. I mean treat it as a separate problem, because it very much is. problem1 we solved. you are fine no one is doing anything AT ALL. problem2 may seem similar, but trust me it's not and that problem is that it's annoying to read a word 100 times a day, regardless of is meaning (example: it is just as ANNOYING to have SOC pop up as say "Peanut Butter Donkey", just as annoying. It wouldn't have caused the first problem1 because you arnt worried ( I hope) about PB Donkeys chasing you down! So if it says that SOC disregard its meaning (problem 1) then you can calmly speak to someone or read something or work somehow on getting the annoyance gone. like a pop up window selling NETFLIX...annoying, yet no REAL sharp edges.
and I don't want to preach or diagnose or whatnot, but you have no reason to apologize (esp in such excess) your making it sound like your making mistakes for repeating the issue, and that ends up setting you up to feel like you need to ask it again. theres nothing to be sorry for, your trying to work it out. I mean I have been helping you probably a total of 12 hours or more between explaining, research and asking people who know a lot about this kind of network problems. not because you said your sorry, but because I didn't think i was being clear and stuff like that, admittingly many people wont spend that kind of time with this type thing (as I'm sure you've learned) but I try to help the newer users, that get looked over by many. this is a very good forum and I would recommend any future issues or questions you try here, because I have found it to be very friendly, compared to 90% of the rest of the forums. I'll be here, you can always drop me a message or a personal message or I may see you post?! but I hope that helped. now have a beer. but not too many that you forget "NO" tomorrow morning!
Mike
bye, and goodnight Frank:)
Wait....ARE YOU SURE NO ONE IS COMING FOR ME???!!!!
lol, I couldnt resist.
Nice
I don't know why everyone is being so Technical with the answers they are giving you but the true answer is simple.
those IP addresses are used un the UPnP for your devices and I'm pretty sure that it said connected not Connecticut.
However it has been know to be spoofed by hackers trying to mimic your hardware to gain access to your personal information.
it is best if you block any outbound traffic with "Windows Advanced Firewall" on any TCP, UDP, and IGMP
if you suspect this as the reason for the overflow.
I would check to make sure that all of your hardware is registered first, as more than likely something is not registered completely or is having an address conflict with another device that is connected, as is the problem when you have multiple video cards connected to MoBo. see your manufacturer of your Video Cards for the solution.
