In eset smart security ver 4.x you need to define the zone as trusted ( or the individual machines) in the advanced setup firewall menu

    Ken
After i did that(and adding the ip of my machines in my home network)
    it magically started working!

If you buy Smart Security 4 and they release something afterwards that's more compatible (Which I doubt they will do, since 4 is already fully compatible) You can just pick up the phone, give them a call and tell them you bought a license for 4 and would like an upgrade/discount for 5 or whatever version they'd have and they will do it for free.
I was running Nod 32 v3.x and one day, when I did a routine update, it upgraded to v4.x -- and did that without my having to pay anything.

So, unless they've change their upgrade policies, or Smart Security is handled differently from NOD 32 AV, should you buy v4.x now, it's most likely you will get a free upgrade to v5.x should that come out within the next few months.
