Um can you let us know the sources of your info re detection rates asser as most that I have seen rate MuckAfee as fair to poor.

Mate you must be able to back up such claims like that, then you would have some credence in what you are saying.

To say it picks up 99% of malware is going out on a limb when we are constantly being told that nothing is 100% and 95% at best.

Myself I am Kaspersky through and through and that followed closely by Comodo.

So please the documentation as I said to lend credibility to your claims.

+1 Corazon but as for MuckAfee errrr just removed t from a friends machine and it left all sorts of rubbish behind.

Just my own personal opinion of course and from experience with it you couldn't give it to me.

Have a look at the thread "Removing McAfee Anti Virus".
    pc-decrapifier works really well.

Thanks Franz that one's just been suggested by a friend as well for the HP bloat I'm encountering with a tidy up on a Compaq laptop

It is funny - I just dowloaded the MPCR.exe on my external drive. Next week I get a new desktop which has a 15 month free McAfee license included. But this is the first thing I will uninstall before I even connect for the first time to the internet. Reason: Past experience with the bugger.

I will install NIS2012 that I also downloaded and which works smooth like silk on my other systems.
