Windows 7: Malwarebytes in Context Menu

I have the same issue. But the answer here confuses me. If you don't see 32-bit programs in 64-bit explorer then why do I see menus for Open Office programs. They work too.

I would love to find the answer. I'd like to be able to scan individual files with MBAM.

I've read the context menu tutorials and tried a few variations. One provides some text to add to a notepad document and swap out the .png for your application extension. But the reg files that add context menu items have much more code than that suggestion.

Here's how to integrate Malwarebytes into context menu

Here's how to do it. You'll be placing it in the "send to" of the context menu. 64-bit systems don't have context menu integration for Malwarebytes. Open explorer and type in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo in the top bar. Now drag Malwarebytes into the window and it will from that point on show up in your "send to" menu. It's not as good as full integration but hey, it gets the job done

Thanks for that tip! It never ceases to amaze me how willing some of us are to experiment and find these gems.

When "sending to" MBAM through this path, the log does not report what was scanned. The log created when using MBAM through the start menu or regular shortcut reports what was scanned.

Haven't figured out why yet.

Good news for 64-bit systems. I was just getting ready to create the "Send to" trick but didn't have to. MBAM version 1.42 now works in 64-bit explorer.

I like to check the log and that is now correctly available.
