Windows Firewall, UAC, Avast! Pro (paid for)....
I'm a firm believer that the UAC does more than just protect you from web threats. Just imagine somehow deleting a file that is needed to get your system booted up, nightmare..... Not that I would, 15 years working with PC's has made me 'virtually' immune to screw ups
I say virtually because in the 'Virtual' world I created in my head i can do no wrong LOL
indeed shark, uac has its uses as you said.
Guys I have a software firewall built-in to my router (netgear wg614). It has packet filtering.
Is this firewall all I need? Or should I leave the Norton Internet Security 2009 firewall on my PC turned on? :)
Edit: I will of course leave the other features (antivirus etc... tuned on, just need advice on the firewall).
Thanks,
Blessed One.
UAC off, Windows Firewall, Avira Premium Secuirty Suite (No firewall, Mail guard or Rescue installed with Avira)
Im using avast professional Edition with windows firewall and UAC disabled... Its been working great for me for years.(Pls dont use Norton Gamer Edition 2009, it spoiled my system completely once!!)
Norton Internet Security 2010 beta and Microsoft Security Essentials in two different Machines,
Guys can some one answer me,
I have a Router, and on the PC that im running MSE has no firewall(except Windows default)
So Whats better, should i go to a Security suite with Internet Security or am I safe with MSE + my router + Windows Firewall ?
Eset Nod32 AV, Windows 7 Firewall, Windows UAC, and a nice secure password guarded router =)
