It's not a good idea to run TWO AV scanners side by side. Avast or MSE? One must choose only one or the other but not both. As for Spyware scanners they are exempt from this. I second replacing Spybot as it's detection rates aren't what they used to be. The same with Adware. The two best right now (in terms of spyware) are SuperAntiSpyware & Malwarebytes.
Still living dangerously.
Win defender (because i forget it's there)
Win Firewall
Avira Free (residential scanner off. Nag screens /spalsh screen removed)
Malwarebytes (when I get around to installing it)
Router
Windows 7 Firewall Control Plus
Malware Defender
AppGuard
UAC (Highest Setting, provide password)
Software Restriction Policy (Disallowed All, Including Admin)
Data Execution Prevention (All Programs and Services)
Hitman Pro (On Demand)
Comodo Time Machine
Win 7 Built-in System Image
vLited Win 7 U, Full Admin acc, UAC off, hardware firewall and anything else MS security related turned off and or deleted.
No AV here and below are some samples that I have found and run on my Sandboxie/Returnil security setup today:

I have just had to disable the restricted sites part of spywareblaster, it was causing a laggy right click menu in my IE.
I just run Norton 2010 Security Suite for the active scanner.
And once a week I run Malwarebytes but its never found anything ... other than 1 false positive.
So either it isnt working properly at all, or Norton is doing a really good job. One or the other.
im running microsoft security essentials - malwarebytes - windows firewall, works for me!! i used to run Kaspersky AV which was good untill microsoft brought their free AV out. I know, what a cheap skate!! lol
I am with BitDefender Total Security 2010, UAC is on. No problems at all, it doesn't slow my computer and although costly I have complete piece of mind. Before I was using Windows Live One Care as having Vista at the time. Since it's not supported in Windows 7 I decided on BitDefender.
BTW strongly recommend this product, it's considered to be the best on the market. :)
