That's nice, one thing that's making me consider switching is the fact that it has real-time protection, while SAS free version doesn't. I might wait until its out of beta stage....I don't feel comfortable installing beta anti-virus stuff on my main computer.

I use MBAM free edition and that’s about it. I detest “real time” AVG’s, they suck down too much of the system resources and I don’t like the way they “control” certain things and generally cause more problems than they ever solve.

About once per year, I manage to get a virus that CANNOT be wiped out with any AVG I try, summer time usually, and when that happens I just back up all of my personal data to the External, make a list of my programs and CD keys etc. and then I enter BIOS and tell it to perform a “Factory Restore” (OEM system’s equivalent to a “Clean Install”).

Takes me about two days to set everything back up, however it is worth it for not having to install all kinds of junk that never works without prompting for more money anyway. Besides, the system runs like day one again after all of that and I actually do this to all of my systems once per year, virus or not for just that reason.

I'll suggest you to install Norton Internet Security 2011,or Kaspersky Internet Security.

    Dieselman

Ad-Aware is NOT a good means pf real time protection. Better off with Avira or Avast.
Dieselman, could you elaborate a little on this. Does the pf mean port forwarding?
I'm clueless! Could you provide me with a link to somewhere I could get clued in?

    Thanks!

Doh! I was thinking it might be a typo and that I was reading too much into it, but like I said, I'm basically clueless!

    Thanks!
