    I have been hacked

Started my PC this morning and my WIN7 Pro login password had been changed, with the hint changed also to: ha ha .

I do not do anything online to provoke malicious behavior from ppl, how did they get in?? I am running MS security essentials on this PC as well. The only use this particular PC has is for watching TV channels online. That's it, nothing more.

Furthermore, I only plug my router in when I am home, leaving no connection availible for most the average day.

I am really boggled here, any advice or idea's on how this happened would be appreciated.

Does anyone else have access to your PC, who could have changed the password and hint?

I take it that you access the Internet wirelessly? If so, what kind of protection are you using? You should be using WPA2 (if available), but even WPA (and, dare I say, WEP) is better than nothing. If you are already using protection, consider changing the password at the very least.

pretty sure I am using WPA2,
however, I am going to start with my router and change the password as you say. I am going to do this via ethernet cable directly into my modem as well, by passing wireless completely. On my other PC I am using what I consider a high quality anti-virus program, just finished a deep scan with no reports of anything.

funny thing is: my only affected PC that I can tell was the one with a generic wireless keyboard. Is it possible to key log a peripheal hardware like this?

Have you used a flash drive from someone else, or did you loan your own flash drive out? Did you update any hardware?
