Viruses in winsxs and massive data hogging, need help

Hey, i'm already pretty frustrated with this and full norton doesn't seem to be able to do all that much. i have over 24gigs in winsxs folder and norton only catches the tojans but they come back everytime i restart my computer, which runs really slow. mainly most of them get quarantined but the most reoccurring one is winupd.exe and winsxs.exe both are protected by that stupid trusted downloader program and i even changed the security of both file groups to make me the owner but trusted downloader still effs me over lol.

Can anyone help? my back up was in an external but my friends broke it.

Did you install Norton after you were infected ? get the Norton power eraser -- Norton Rescue Tools .

If you can get access to a Live Linux CD (e.g. Ubuntu) you should be able to delete those files.
    Linux ignores Windows security settings.
