    High CPU Usage MSE

When i'm moving a file between a flash drive and laptop hard drive or vice-versa, the Microsoft Security Essential service MsMpEng.exe usage goes to 100% and the transfer of files seems to slowdown because of that and is really annoying.

    Security Essentials Version: 2.1.1116.0
    Antimalware Client Version: 3.0.8402.0
    Engine Version: 1.1.8001.0

tried uninstalling it and installing again, but no luck.

Full scanned for viruses, but it came clean.

Its a common MSE issue, the high cpu usage,. the problem is your single core processor no up to the task of the antivirus real time scanner.

So there is no workaround? it was working fine sometime ago, but now is horrible. I thought was some engine update or definition, but i installed it again from zero without a clue. I know MsMpEng.exe is the culprit of slowing transfer speed becausei disable the "real time scan" tab and speed went to normal.

That may be why, on the settings tab, you can specify CPU usage to whatever percentage you want to...

But that tab is for scheduled scan and i don't use scheduled, i use manual and the default real-time. I tried a temporary solution by excluding the drive letter of the usb pen drive (G:\ in my case) from any MSE scan and now is fixed it seems and for now.
