    Well if it's the host file, about the only thing I know that checks it properly is spybot search and destroy.

    It sounds like whatever bad redirect file is on the machine has highjacked the Hosts file.

    See if one of these 'bootable' antivirus rescue disks help to get you booted again (use a clean computer to download, then create the CD).

    Not working!


    I got the Kaspersky rescue disk on my usb but it won't boot on my sister netbook. And yes I have set it to boot a usb drive before the hard drive.

    Hi,

    What error message do you get when you try and boot from the USB? Which program did you use to make the USB bootable?
