I HIGHLY recommend either Avira free or Microsoft Security Essentials.

Both are free, Avira has been dependable for me for quite some time now, but does have annoying popups with the free version.

MSE has dazzled me in the last 2 months I have been using it. I have no problems with it and it runs amazingly smoothe and behind the scenes. Aso a bonus vs Avira, no annoying popups.
