    Stand Alone File Scanners

    Hey guys.

I love file scanners. They keep my files clean.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials as my "Active Monitor", but I'm looking for Stand Alone Virus or Spyware Scanners that do NOT "actively run".

I am looking for file scanners that can be executed to scan for mal/spyware and viruses.

Can you guys recommend any free ones?

Here's what I use in addition to Microsoft Security Essentials:

    File scanners: (NOT ACTIVELY MONITORING):
    1) Spyboy search and destroy (Without Tea Timer of course)
    2) Malwarebytes
    3) SUPERAntiSpyware
    4) Clamware (Clamware is just okay)

Can you recommend anything else to add to my arsenal? Remember, I'm looking for scanners that do not run with windows startup, something that will not interfere with MSE, and something that will just scan on demand.

I look forward to any contributions!

    Cordially

You can use an online scanner such as jotti Jotti's malware scan or VirScan VirSCAN.org - Free Multi-Engine Online Virus Scanner v1.02, Supports 36 AntiVirus Engines!

Online antivirus scans ... Top Free Online Virus Scan Services I like ESET.
