    It did!

My only complaint is about a little annoyance. The program opens automatically when I start Windows and it appears both in the system tray and in the new task bar.

I would like to keep it only in the system tray and not in the taskbar. Is it possible?
Go to the "settings" tab. There you will find a check box that says something like "enable Windows7 taskbar integration". Uncheck that.

Thanks again Subsonic. I inspected the Settings tab but somehow I didn't realized this option, and it's self explanatory.

I'm loving the simple, yet powerful program from Sphynx.

I would like to use the included Windows 7 Firewall with outbound protection, but I'm missing an option that I don't know if it's implemented or not.

Is it possible to configure Windows Firewall to ask when a program tries to connect for the first time?
You might want to give Windows7 Firewall control a try. Even the free version will do what you want. It complements and simplifies the native firewall. Try it.

Windows 7 Firewall Control : Sphinx Software
Here is an interesting note about this product.

Windows7FirewallControl is completely based on Windows Filtering Platform (WFP), the security core introduced in Windows Vista and does not install any third party kernel drivers. The Built-in Firewall is based on the same WFP as well. The both products work entirely independently. Windows7FirewallControl uses the Built-in Firewall only once, at the first start to grab the initial settings. Due to complete product independence you can switch the Built-in Firewall ON or OFF at your option.

Supposedly other firewalls use their own kernel drivers which could cause problems if not done correctly. This product uses the built in WFP (Windows Filtering Platform).
