Action Centre conflicts Norton 360

Have custom build Scan 3XS i7-2600K
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), Office 2010 Home & Business
Norton 360 v6
Problem:
Problem: Win7 Action Centre reports both Windows Defender and Norton 360 are OFF for Virus, Firewall and Spyware.
Norton 360 indicates all the above in the green.

Have contacted Norton, run removal tool, and reinstalled Norton 360 twice.
Problem still exists.

Norton 360 is running perfectly on my second computer (HP2133 laptop).

Therefore conclude problem with Windows 7.
Can anyone help please?

My advise to you is to uninstall Norton and use MSE with MalwareBytes or Avast with MalwareBytes and Comodo Rirewall.
Norton may not uninstall easily so unistall it with Norton Removal Tool.

Just did that for a friend and all is hunky-dory with him.

I would use MSE with Win7 Firewall which gives best performance and is perfected in Win7.

For Wanchoo. Can you please explain why you recommend using Malware Bytes and Comodo Firewall in addition to MSE. Is MSE not sufficient on its own?

Malwarebytes is the best malware scanner out there and the first thing we run for infection. Most run it on demand from desktop, although those who are prone to infection should consider buying the real time protection.

MSE is adequate protection with the Win7 Firewall.

I personally would never run Comodo anything based on the problems seen here over three years.

Shame about having to ditch Norton 360, have been happy with the package for many years - but I have to say that now I have gone to MSE it is nice to know that I have one less backup to perform!
Running MSE with Windows 7 Firewall at present, no problems or conflicting Action Centre reports - and will download Malware Bytes today.
Consider post solved.

PS: Have to add that my second computer (HP2133 laptop) - which I do not use very often - had also developed the same problem. Have gone to MSE on that as well.
