    Microsoft Safety Scanner?

Has anyone here ever used Microsoft Safety Scanner?

After using several virus removal tools, I don't remember hearing the name before.

Maybe I will download it when I get time, it would be nice if it runs from a boot disc.

You can download it here Microsoft Safety Scanner - Antivirus | Remove Spyware, Malware, Viruses Free both 32 and 64 bit versions are available.

    Hello Drew,

It's not a bad portable AV scanner.
For a portable bootable AV scanner, you might take a look at Windows Defender Offline below a try.

Thanks for the fast replies Brink and Jacee!

I was looking for a replacement for SuperAntiSpyware, preferably one that is portable. Windows Defender Offline looks like the best option.

We run MSE on all our home computers and never had a problem. But when someone brings me a fouled up PC I start with a bootable virus cleaner.
