How to safely install A_V and Fiewall without first connecting to Web

I have just taken delivery of a new laptop which I requested not to have installed the included Norton A_V package as I intend to wipe the hard drive and then re-install Win 7. Thus this machine is presently without any A_V or Firewall . It is , of course Wi-Fi equipped , and I have a desktop linked to the Web by a wireless Router.

I have not attempted to link the laptop wirelessly until I install AVG Free A_V and ZA Free Firewall .

The problem is both of thes installations require access to the Web !

Is there a way of doing this without exposing the unprotected laptop to viral infection ?

Can you download them on your desktop and then put them on a USB thumb drive and then hook that up to your laptop and then install them.

Windows 7 is not Windows XP, it won't get infected the second you connect to the Internet. Your router will block most if not all forms of network access from the outside.
