Hi, I drop a link inside the Program Execution on Windows Startup Folder but that program can't start on startup. Program is this HWiNFO64 Download Do you have an idea? Thanks!
Here is a check-list.
01. Is the program W 7 compatible? Please install it in XP SP3 compatibility mode and see if it works properly.
02. Is it the latest version of the program and designed to run on a 64-bit machine like yours?
03. Does it run properly otherwise.
04. Instead of running from the Start-up Folder, have you tried to run it at start-up by making a suitable additional entry in HKLM or HKCU in the Registry.
Key is [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
Data Value for "avast" is = "C:\\Program Files\\AVAST Software\\Avast\\avastUI.exe\" /nogui"
In fact the data value can be lifted from where it is located in the Registry for the Start-up Folder. Moreover as one would be making manual changes in the Registry, extreme caution is necessary as also exporting the Keys including the Values so that they can later be imported if necessary
I am not saying that these tricks would work but they are worth trying out.

colmart,
Help us to help you.
Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec (left-hand column)
To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info
ADD the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.
Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit
Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc
Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.
Fixed! Ha! -> Task Scheduler - Create New Task : )
