After formatting, non-OS partition shows 0GB used--Bitlocker issue??

my laptop runs windows 7 ultimate x64.i have two partitions- C & D drive. i had locked it using bitlocker.. later i decided to install windows 8 and to not take a risk, removed the bitlocker protection..bitlocker was decompressing when due to a hardware problem my laptop shutdown. i gave it to some guy who formatted it. the trouble started when on booting up, the D drive has started showing 0GB used..i seem to have lost all the files and the drive doesnt seem accessible.. the new OS is windows basic. what do i do?? have i lost all my files??

    Hi,

Unfortuantely, there isn't anything that can be done. The HDD has been formatted, and there is the complication of the bitlocker encryption not fully decrypting, so there is an infinatesamly small chance of ever recovering those files

You could try accessing the HDD using a Linux distribution to try and at least access the drive, but I do not hold out any hope of data recovery..........

A very small hope too.........See if Recuva can see anything. You will need several tens of hours of a deep scan, but I doubt you will find anything recoverable.
