    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit / Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (dual boot)

    I have 3 full-time desktops that dual boot Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit and Windows 10 Pro 20H2 64-bit.
    Both operating systems are up to date to November 10, 2020.

    Windows 10 in all 3 of them successfully updated Malwarebytes Free to version 4.2.3.96
    Windows 7 in 2 of them failed to update and currently are at version 4.1.2.73
    Windows 7 in only 1 of them successfully updated to version 4.2.3.96

    I've seen this "hit or miss" with Windows 7 for the past few updates.
    The definition files continue to update fine, so I'm not concerned right now about the app not updating.

    Malwarebytes 4.3.0.98 installed fine in both my Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers.

Malwarebytes version 1.61
in System Security

Malwarebytes released version 1.61 today. I tried to update using the auto update on a W7 x64 PC and it failed. I ran the mbam-clean uninstall utility and downloaded/installed version 1.61 without issues. Had to re-register and reconfigure the options. I'll wait a few days to see if others...
I just ran the updater in Malwarebytes, and was surprised at the change in version numbers, as can be seen in the screenshot. I suppose they may just have decided to use a different system, but I'm wondering if it might indicate something more nefarious, like someone else slipping into the picture?
