That's nothing for a novice to be doing,
Mess up the default account and you'll soon be doing a repair install or a re-install

I've seen a few users post about this and not really sure what's going on as I've not investigated it myself. QA is aware of it though and is looking into it. I'll try to duplicate this if I can when I get back from vacation as I don't have time to dive into this right now.

Currently over 3 million users on the 2.x version and more are added daily via updates. Our next beta update should probably be 2.1 but no set date for that. That version is supposed to fix more of the cosmetic issues as well as other reported technical issues as well. If this Limited User issue can be duplicated and confirmed then I'd hope it would be fixed in the 2.1 beta cycle.

    Thanks everyone

I'm using the free version of MBAM and it hasn't updated to 2.0.2.1012 yet. Should it have done so by now?

I wouldn't. For that matter, I haven't (and I have four copies of the lifetime the paid version) and won't until I'm assured the worst of the bugs have been worked out (they are getting closer but aren't quite there yet).

in fact since i do belong on the malwarebytes.org forum, seems lots have (including all my clients and myself) have not received the new version via the updater as of yet and it was released on 5/20. I would wait till they figure it out, seems also there are many bugs in the newer version

I already updated to 2.0 back in April, and although I was annoyed by the longer scan times and the tendency to freeze for a minute when exiting after a scan, I haven't encountered any severe bugs that absolutely forced me the go back to 1.75 (although I do prefer that and still have it installed on my laptop).

Thanks. It's good to know I'm not the only one who hasn't received the update yet. If it really does have a lot of bugs, I guess I should count myself lucky it hasn't updated yet.

I have no clue which is supposed to be the most recent stable version ?
I finally bit the bullet and updated to this,

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.2.1012
    (c) Malwarebytes Corporation. All rights reserved.
    Build Date: 5/12/2014

As far as updating goes it's seems to be hit and miss ?
I haven't got any popup messages that it's updated even definitions
The settings are correct and the task is set to once a day to keep it limited from the every 5 minutes default which is a waste of resources imho
Checking now the only way to see what definitions is to click scan,
    Then it shows v2014.05.30.06
    So it has updated today
Showing an update before scan v2014.05.30.08
So far no bugs to speak of upgraded to 2.0.. and didn't have to use the cleaner to get the real time protection activated,
Full/ custom scan with rootkit completed within an hour = so-so
So all is well so far,
    Cheers.
