Since the old version is/was so good, I don't think you are missing much. That said, I have had no issues since the latest version. I had to enable the hidden Admin account to update, but hoping that is fixed when the next version appears. A Guy

Apparently it is a problem Avira is aware of.

I think I know why I have problems with MBAM 2.0 that I didn't have with 1.75. I had to reinstall my Avira free antivirus last Sunday, but before I did so, I ran a full scan with MBAM. It took about 55 minutes like it did with 1.75, and didn't temporarily freeze when I exited. I'm not sure exactly why, but it seems that on my PC, MBAM isn't keen on Avira.

That is a coincidence as my main machine at home running Kaspersky 2014 often the MBAM program will freeze and it ends up with not responding message. I know from some while back Kaspersky 2013 would not or did not like running with MBAM but now it is just this that happens
It usually clears itself after retrying it but it is irritating.
Are you both using version 2.0.2.1012?
Sorry late reply and yes mate it is that version.

I have been back and forth with Kaspersky about compatibility with Mbam and they say Mbam , Spywareblaster, Superantispyware and Sandboxie are not compatible with it .

But i don't think thats true because my parents run Mbam , Spywareblaster, and use Sandboxie and sometimes SAS as an on demand scanner and they never have issues.

My computer , a Win 7 SP1 64 bit machine (same as theirs) has the same (non responding issues and you do lol)

    I would guess,
That having many would mean you trust none completely
MSE MBAM used to be Pro SAS Pro is all I need and trust,
    Anything else is just overkill
As a one time scanner Adwcleaner and Uninstalled after use,
    Cheers.

Trust none completely? Absolutely. No one program can be foolproof.

I may need none of my security, but since I have paid for none (except MBAM to make sure I got lifetime), and they all play well together, and cause no issues with my system, I will continue to have several layers between me and that malicious payload waiting out there. Many programs don't need definitions to work, they protect the most common vectors of attack. I can think of no negatives of my setup, on my system. To each his own. A Guy
