Most of these folks only have 1 PC.
With the new subscription license, their cost would be ~25$ per year per PC for MBAM Premium.
Is it worth it anymore? not IMHO.

I cringe every time I hear of another MBAM incident.
I wonder who will call me with a PC that won't work or has issues that I have to fix remotely for MBAM I recommended.

I use MBAM real-time and I'm updated to the latest version 1025 on my home PCs.
I don't know what to do or recommend for the folks I've helped install MBAM real-time on their PC, or here in the forums.

I think MBAM is first in class at malware detection, perhaps almost a monopoly in this.
What other product(s) really competes with them ???
I also think they are quite poor in usability and listening to the customer.

I certainly won't buy MBAM and give it away as a gift ever again for security concerned people I help that would not buy it themselves for whatever reason.
Been there, done that, no more...
I completely agree with this sentiment. Its factual and based on documented experience by many users. The question is, will Malwarebytes sit up and take notice of the fact that their reputation, at least here, is somewhat tarnished, and going doing the drain with each update? I'm not so sure.
Not to be another say me too, but yeah. Me too. That is exactly how I feel.

Back when I updated to v2 in April, I found that MBAM would temporarily freeze when I exited after running a scan of any kind. In June, I discovered that this had something to do with Avira Free Antivirus, because I had to reinstall the latter due to an unrelated problem and while it was uninstalled, I didn't have the freezing problem. I updated to v2.0.3.1025 a few days ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it no longer freezes. The scan speed is still slower than it was for v1.75, but at least one of my problems has been solved.

Once again malwarebytes is shutting itself off. I have done a clean removal and used their tool as well. Then it happens again. Did another uninstall, and used there cleanup utility again. Windows says the program crashes and checks for a solution.

I'm going back to the old version. I have had enough. And I am starting to not trust malwarebytes at all. How long until this new version works properly? The worse part is I see this happen on fresh VM installs. This program is literally trash right now.

I can only say I have no problems with the new versions. After the first build all has been smooth. So it's different for each user. A Guy

Beside some minor self updating on a schedule which has been resolved on the new version I haven't had many other issues with it :/
Not sure what's up with yours Andrew
    Possibly it doesn't like vm's ?

Thanks guys. Yes bear even when not using vm's I have issues. I have seen this issue on my VMs where it was crashing, on my computer and friends computers. Different AV's, some even on a fresh install. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is going on.

I notice it seems to crash more when I set the following settings:

look for Rootkits checked, and having a password block access to the settings. I have emailed support to see if they have seen anything like this.

I am starting to wonder if anti-exploit from malwarebytes together with anti-malware is causing some issue. I noticed when I disable anti-exploit, malwarebytes does not freeze as often. It never happens when running a scan though. Just when browsing through the settings or the randomly turning itself off issue.

But then, none of the above makes sense since I can reproduce it with just windows installed or other pc's and in VM's.

So it is a bit of a mystery.

After 6 clean installs though, and then manually going through the registry and deleting everything malwarebytes related that the cleaner missed, and every folder.....it seems to be working fine for now on my machine. But the next time it crashes I am going back to the old version.

I went back to v1.75 sometime ago because of problems of 2 different PCs. I might try the very latest version when they drop v1.75 definition file updates. If it plays up then I'll drop Malwarebytes.
However, it's not fair for me to be too critical when using free software!
