I would just like to ask, i have turned off the free trial of my MBAM Free version, now the real-time protection was turned off.
how can i activate it back?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but the free version does not have real-time protection.
There is a 14-day trial of premium features enabled by default during installation or a major upgrade.
However, as explained in my previous reply, the Trial lasts for 14 days.
After that, the program automatically reverts to the Free, on-demand, manual scanner.
The Premium features can only be restored by activation with a paid license ID and Key.

This trial is only good for use one time, for a single 14-day period, on any one computer.
So, if you are not offered the option during the install wizard, it means that the Trial was already used on that computer.

Jonny I don't think that me and Thrashzone have any problems with each other.
I don't think I have problem with any member. Some members and I don't always agree but we disagree politely.
I know of no forum with over a quarter million members that all members agree all the time.

I don't always agree with John and Shawn except, they are the Bosses, we do agree on that and I act accordingly.

At times I'm not sure in my mind what a expert really is.

    Example:
I know people that are called expert shots that couldn't hit a barn door at 50 yards with a 12 gauge.
I hit groundhogs at 500 yards with 70 grains of Nosler Ballistic Tips and nobody calls me a expert shot other than the groundhogs family until I get all of them.

I would like to be known as a knowledgeable member that tries to his best to help others on this forum.

We are way off topic for the security section. Sorry.

In previous program builds you could do a clean removal and then re-enable the Trial. There were more people doing that than one might imagine - seems like a lot of work but hey they did it. The latest version of the program no longer relies on the local installation to determine if the Trial has been used before or not. During installation we now tag the unique install and once the Trial is over it cannot be reused even with a clean removal.

So far I see the same daily update issues from the beginning of 2.0...'s release
Darn thing refuses to update on a schedule :/

What is the programs file inside mbam to activate a update I'll do it through windows task scheduler instead and see if it works that way ?

I've also noticed mbam is not installing a program folder only a programs x86 :/

They have not implemented Command processing in Version 2.x yet.
So, you can't create a scheduled task to do updates/scans etc.
This feature was in version 1, and "will be added back in a future release" from what i have read on the MBAM forum.

MBAM is 32 bit, that's why there is no Malwarebytes folder in C:\Program Files

The problem i have with updates is on Startup or Wakeup.
MBAM often tries to update definitions before a network connection is established.
It's been this way for many years ... i wonder if they will ever fix this ?
In Version 1 I created a scheduled task to get definitions on startup/wakep as a workaround.

I often see this error in the Protection Logs:
Update, 3/26/2015 11:28:05 AM, SYSTEM, MYPC, Scheduler, Failed, Unable to access update server

    You're welcome.

For me scheduled updates work in 2.x and worked in 1.x, except for the "startup update"...
I asked about this a long time ago on the MBAM forum, the issue is acknowledged, but ... no fix (yet)
