I saw a mabm clean posted on the 383 error thread and used it,
Download a fresh copy from the same link in a prior email sent by mabm after purchase,
This time it didn't auto activate and manually entered the activation info and it seems fine now,
I have not upgraded to 2.0 still,
I'll happily wait a while to hear back from mabm for instruction to sort out the mess with the activation not being transferred seamlessly,
Pity great product but if rootkit is buggy I don't want it,
Possibly I'm just impatient but I can't have a scan running endlessly I do not leave my computer running all the time,
    Cheers.

From what I have seen at MBAM forum and also on my system, the Full scan can lock up if you have rootkits enabled. Runs fine with rootkits disabled. I run the Hype and Threat scan with rootkits enabled with no problems.

Thanks for that information PhoneMan which the other scans did work very quickly but I did not use the rootkit option in them,
Still waiting for a reply back from mabm not that it will be earth shaking I'm sure ?
Might straighten out the activation key clash though is more where my concern is,
    Cheers.

I decided to update my free MBAM to 2.0 tonight, and I'm not really digging it. The new interface looks unappealing to me, and actually seems less simple than the previous one. The threat scan took twice as long as usual (although it may have been scanning more folders and files than before, I'm not sure), and it takes a while for the tray icon to disappear after I close the window (and I can't reopen it until after the icon disappears).

Part of me is tempted to go back to the previous version, but I don't know if it's because I have legitimate problems with this version or I'm just nervous about the changes. I'll try to stick with it until the end of the week. If I don't warm up to it by Monday, I might roll back.

Just a heads up on roll back

From some things I've read I think there are issues using a Restore Point to go back to Ver 1.
The safest way imho is to restore a System Backup Image from before updating to Ver 2.

If you don't have a System Backup Image, I'd use the mbam-clean utility to remove Ver 2 and then re-install Ver 1.

I'm using Ver 2 and don't have all the issues I'm reading about.
    For me, it works better.
I normally use a Standard/Limited account and with Ver 1 I was limited in what I could do and when it alerted me.
With Ver 2, it tells me when the DB is out of date, and I can Update it...

With the friends and family I help, I suggest they wait a few weeks before updating to Ver 2 ...
There are issues reported with Ver 2 and I don't want to have someone update to Ver 2, and I have to fix it remotely via Teamviewer.
I was the one that suggested (and installed) MBAM for them.

MBAM has a clean utility? Where? I couldn't find it (or I'm looking for the wrong thing).
