Having never tried to set it this way - I do not know what to say. EVERYTHING I launch from Run is set to Admin Priv.

Ummm - wouldn't setting explorer.exe to always run as admin do the trick?
Either that, or else running as the hidden administrator account....
The former, perhaps, the latter, definitely. Neither apply here - directly.
I have been reading through a collection of reg files that I have amassed, but I have not organized them and cannot recall which ones I have applied.
It was never my intention to use Windows 7 on a daily basis. I thought I would install it, play with it, and wait for the retail release. I am certain that Windows 7 sux, but I have yet to determine how or why.
You can ZIP up the reg files and post them here and I can take a look at them and see if any of them would make a difference....
Doh!
That has to be the simplest one, and I would never have thoguht about it b/c I always run UAC enabled.
Confirmed. UAC is it.
Six blind men, one elephant.
But, check this out - my systray volume icon now presents the red X and sounds are playing properly.
The only Antman executed change was UAC enable.
Disabled UAC, reboot, volume icon back to normal.
What is the proper spelling of "Aye, yi, yi, yi. yiii..."
