norton is famous as a bloatware.
they have promised to be lighter on resources and stronger on protection.
LOL just try Norton for once and quit being a NOD32 fanboy...
Norton Internet security 2010 running on another laptop of mine, uses less than 15MB of RAM and has blocked everything I threw at it (Zero-Day-Malware links).

    There, take that!!

Well i m not a NOD32 fanboy. i just liked their product. For now, i m with Vipre Av and its running good for me.

       Note
No matter what Anti Virus you use, it should satisfy your needs.

Lets stop fighting about which is better and which is not. We all know it now.

Well i have to say that it is quite impressive. Installation takes around 1 minute.
    Quick scans are very faster.
When idle, it uses around 12-15 MB RAM.

    The interface is pretty neat.

One of it's greatest features is that it doesn't scan unnecessary files, unlike most AV's.

It is connected to a ever growing database for known and trusted files.
It compares the hashes and if that particular file is fully trusted by the community and by Symantec, it won't scan the file again unless it has been altered.
(you can still chose to distrust a file that has been trusted by them, or trust a file that is either unknown or not trusted fully.)

    Brilliant feature!

That's why every quick scan will go faster than the previous one.

Didn't think I'd do this but, with all the recent good reviews I've seen... I installed NIS2010. I have to say I'm impressed. Quick install, light on resources. This one might actually make Peter Norton proud!

Really, you like that? Guess the black and gold just doesn't do it for me. Think I'll stick with my Vipre.

Let us know how the detection tests go though, curious to see how Norton does.

I'm assuming since you are playing with this one, you still haven't bought Vipre then huh?

With Norton 360 being updated for Win7 I am really pleased with it so far, not a resource hog as in the past, quick scans. This is not the same old bloatware no longer.
