Windows 7 Pro. 64/SP-1

Of course you are correct Slartybart. I read the same but I'm paranoid. If I don't need it and it is in my mind being attacked more often than normal I just remove it. Dead dogs are hard to find and then attack. Java dogs for the near future are dead on my computer. To each his/her own.

Windows 10 64bit

I've had java uninstalled for the past month for those various attacks and java being exploited right when the new update was released last time, can't remember what version but it wasn't too long ago. Anyways haven't had any problems with java uninstalled and rarely run into any program or site that requires java, almost non existent for me.

Yeah have disabled mine for the last couple of hours and nothing has baulked at starting up so might go ahead and uninstall it.

Matter of fact I might take it off my list for fixes I do too.
