Log on frozen, Does not allow keyboard input.

I have a problem that cropped up after the last Microsoft update. I cannot log on. The cursor is frozen and the keyboard's password input is not recognized by the PC. As a result, I cannot get into the PC to disable or eliminate the password and open. How do I fix this? This is my home PC. I'm the only user.

My O/S is Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor, 1 TB Hard Drive, 6GB RAM,
    Thank you,
    Deaf Dave

PS, This is my backup PC that I'm using now.

Plug in a ps2 keyboard. They're driverless, so if the problem is that that the drivers won't load until in windows, then a ps2 keyboard will work.

Golden,(bradscoolio also) No sir. When I try to boot in safe mode, the login screen comes up but I cannot login. I even switched keyboards from a wireless one to a USB keyboard. Same result. (I have no PS 2 port). Somehow, I think I have to find a way to to disable or delete the logon password. Whether safe mode only or with networking, I can't get into the system without either being able to by-pass or delete the password login. The PC that is having this problem also is Win 7 64-bit O/S. Using the command prompt, I was able to do sfc/scannow as well as chkdsk C: /F/ R both of which showed no problems.. Also, don't know what this means but before the logon screen appeared, a message appeared that said "configuring Windows updates". When finished, same problem with logon as before. On another attempt and using F8, it went right to the system recovery screen. Ran the startup repair and no problems were found. what next?? Regards, Dave

This is a long but 100% fix and may require $. Re install windows. Make sure to plug the hdd into another pc and move all important data off, then put back in for installation. Sorry it had to come to this

Please try a system restore from an installation DVD. See OPTION 2 here:

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

Does the mouse work? If so, then use the onscreen keyboard:

Hello all, the mouse arrow is frozen in place and will not move as is the cursor. As I had mentioned earlier, the problems began after doing a windows update. Had a BSOD <0x800706AB>. Nirsoft said crash caused by "NTOSKRNL.exe + F1c0" an NT Kernal + System failure. I ran sfc/scannow. Zero problems reported. I ran chkdsk C: F / R. no problems. On 9-15-12 I ran some scans for Virus, malware etc. no problems. I then did a system restore back to 9-13-12 (before the Windows Updates). Restore was successful. Ran the updates again. On re-start, the desktop background had changed, the e-mail folder had no messages in it and looked as if I had just set up the PC for the 1st time! I then restored to an even earlier time of 8-28-12. This was successful. Had to re-install those Microsoft updates once again. Upon the re-boot, a message appeared on the screen "Windows initializing - doing a start up repair". When it finished, this is when the mouse, cursor, keyboard (m-c-k) problem started. I can get into the system using the repair disc but am not able to do anything because of the m-c-k problem. No Windows Installation Disc was included when I purchased this PC. I hope this gives you enough info to hopefully figure out where to go from here. Thank you, Dave
