i hope the new firewall module comes to us by the next month. Until then, I m fine with NOD32 AV instead of ESS.
Um, thought you were using Vipre?

And ESET has released firewall module 1052 already.
I m using Vipre AV only. BTW, is the new firewall from ESET available for download or those having ESS will get it in the form of update?
Its a program module update. It will update and then ask for reboot. Just like normal virus database update, except that it doesn't need a reboot (lol) and most of the time a program module update doesn't even need a update!

Those with more than 2, is it necessary.

Btw is a router security setting really an antivirus?

You have to have a certain option under Updates in settings in ESS to get the update as far as I know. Not sure which one...I can't remember now. It's in testing mode right now, from what I've read over there.

No, router security setting is more like a firewall.

Typically, at a minimum, it prevents your system(s) from being visible on the Internet by not responding to unsolicited connection requests like "ping". In addition, it allows you to share data and files behind it without exposing that information to the rest of the world.

    WRT54G with WEP
    AVG
    Windows firewall.

Good choices. With UAC at level 2 you can use the tweak to keep protected mode on all the time in MSIE. Internet Explorer InPrivate Filtering - Keep On

I'd recommend adding an anti-virus like MSE. Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

Thanks, I chose sphinx because it runs uses the windows firewall kernel so nothing extra is installed on my computer. About your recommendation, I am already running MSE.
