Yorkshire police Virus now windows wont boot no safe mode

Hi thanks for taking the time to read this.
I was working on my comp when the yorkshire police virus locked my screen asking me to pay 100 pounds so I restarted my comp once or twice and now windows wont boot up.

I cant get access to the safe mode my comp starts loading up screen goes blank then it starts loading up again. I done a scan and I got biohd-8 fail after 75%. I did read somewhere that this virus can do that but I can find any help on how I can recover my children's pics from when they were young.

I tried using Ubuntu on a dvd but I cant access my windows folder once thats booted up

You've probably guessed by now I haven't got a back up

Can anyone be any help I really don't wont to lose these pics its the only copy I have

    Windows Defender Offline

You can try the WDO tool to remove the virus.

You will need to use a working computer in order to burn the program to a bootable CD/DVD or USB.

    Hope this helps,

The program is booted from the CD/DVD or USB, and is usually used when you can't access your OS and install or boot a AV program.

    Good

You may also want to carry out these steps, when infection has been cleared up enough to access Windows:

Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot

WDO is Step #2 of the troubleshooting steps, so you may want to work from Step #3 after using the WDO.

This is another case of so-called ransomware. A method of removal of a similar virus, reveton, is demonstrated in the video at the link below:

You might try removing your drive and temporarily connecting it to another PC to see if you can access your file that way.
