    avast antivirus + free trial


    Avaist tells me my free antivirus will be up in a few days. Is there another one I can download free that last a long time. Thanks so much. I have exployer 9 and windows 7. Thank you so much. Carol

    Just keep Avast & renew it.:)

    HOW TO RENEW AVAST FREE EDITION
    AVAST will then send you an email with a key code
    Copy and paste the code into AVAST by:
    - Right clicking on the Avast icon in your task bar at the bottom right of your screen
    - Choose "About Avast"
    - Click the "License key" button

    - Copy & paste the code
    Register avast! Free Antivirus

    Avast is good for free, even if it needs renewing once a year.

    You will have to renew it once a year, a real pain. In addition they are pretty quick in telling you, very often, that you should go to pay.
    I and most of us here, prefer, Microsoft Security Essenatials. It has none of that nonsense. In addition, when used in conjunction with the free Malwarebytes, its hard to beat.

I'm just about to change from paid Avira Pro to free Avast antivirus. The Avira had a firewall, but does the free Avast have one? If not, what should I do? Am I right in thinking that my Win7 has a firewall, and if yes, is it enough to rely on this? Thanks for any advice.
Am using a HP Probook 4540s, running on A Win 7 x64 bit OS, 4gb ram, 2.6ghz core i5, I installed Avast Free Antivirus and it reached a point whereby it wouldn't update but lags a lot, I tried uninstalling it normally with windows uninstall program but it wouldn't go through, tried Revo uninstaller...

I downloaded Avast because it was free. It says that I have to register to Avast! Free Anti-virus. I thought this program was free? Or is registering for free?
