Hello,
Is windows firewall able to notify me when blocking a new program trying to establish an *outbound* connection?
Thanks,

Thanks for the tip. Actually I am not looking for many features like inbound protection, as I'm behind a router, or complicated port-rules. All I need is a "program" (or would you call this a "firewall", already?) *JUST* notifying/blocking a *process* from connecting to the internet. Does such thing exist? (Ideally I would run this next to windows firewall, which is enough for me...)
Thanks!
Yes it will notify you if a process attempts to connect to the net... This program runs fine with the default rules, or you can get down and dirty and configure it to suit your specific needs...
Yes, so far, every time a new program tries to access anything outside the local network, a warning dialog pops up and asks if you want to let it. If you say yes, it makes a permanent exception fotr that program so it won't ask you again...
Thanks, I'll try this Sphinx Windows 7 Firewall Control (despite their horrible-looking website/logo! ). It looks "lighter" (in resources) than PC Tools Firewall Plus (but please correct me if you know more about this...)
Thanks!
