I've got some updates today through Windows Update and Updating from the MSE Update page.
The latest one that installed for me is virus definition 1.143.544.0
The download page shows the latest virus definition version is: 1.143.568.0
At least some updates are getting installed, so it's not too far out of date...

Just got 1.143.575.0 via MSE's built-in updater, which is also reported as the latest definitions currently available.

Glad to see the problem, whatever it was, has been seemingly addressed. I am still feeling a little "left out of the loop" with no real press release from MS regarding what this was all about though; by any standard, no AV software should've had an issue like this. :(

I'll give this another day or two to let the dust settle and then mark the topic as solved if the problem doesn't resurface. :)

I got the same thing when I tried to update manually from within MSE a little while ago. I'm going to leave it alone and watch for the next day or two to see if it will update automatically like it is supposed to.

Is MSE still not automatically updating yet?
