I've thought of test you can run. Do you have a 2nd PC/laptop that is connected to the server network? If so, please type this from an elevated command prompt on the 2nd PC/laptop:

    Code:
    shutdown /s /m \\SERVER /d p:0:0 /c "Test remote shutdown of Server"
where SERVER = name of the server you are having problems with

If this command works, and your server is being shutdown, then there is a possibility someone is doing that remotely. In order for that to happen, they require administrator access to your network, and it may be time for you to review your firewall policy.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, but yknow what it was? It was Handbrake, I had told it ages ago to shut down once it finished a que of conversions. I figured it would be a one time thing, but it kept doing this after every conversion from there on. I didn't find it at first because the check box was in a kind of obscure place.
