what anti-spyware do you recommend for windows 7?

    Most free and paid AntiVirus software comes with AntiSpyware, e.g. AVG, Avira and Avast. Combined with MalwareBytes just as a scanner, not real-time; you'll have high security without taking up a lot of system resources.

    Maybe MSE uses more or less RAM depending on a system's configuration, but it's only using roughly 40 MB on my netbook which has 2 GB.

    I use MSE for virus protection. I use Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to periodically check for problems. I use SpywareBlaster to keep the stuff off of my machine in the first place. The only one I have to worry about is myself!
