I think I see what is going on - the original install of the KIS was on the dead machine - right so you tried to install KIS from a download site or disk to your new machine using the code from the old machine's version??

Now I can tell you straight up that you should have got onto the Kaspersky site in Melbourne - on that contact number I sent you and explained the situation before you went ahead and downloaded the KIS 2013.

Which is just about what Jacee is saying.

They would have then reset it at their end and let you know how to go about activating that download after you did it using that code you had for the other machine.

I did this with the KIS I installed on the machine I rebuilt and sent to my brother in England and only to find out about the regional issue (Aussie regional version does not work over there) , and so I was able to use all three licences that I bought at that time for my machines back here.

However I can appreciate that you would not have been aware that this is what you needed to do, and well none of us are perfect eh? least of all me.

When you do get it fixed and if you still want that config let me know.

    John

Hi ICit2lol, I rang that number, all I got was a recorded message telling me to press #1 or2 or3, you know the procedure. I pressed the required number and got another recorded message telling me to use their email. I did send an email and got a message that it had been forwarded to Support. Waiting-waiting-wai........

Look I will see if I can dig it out as I have spoken to them loads of times. But answer Jacee anyway as she has posted a message for you.

As a matter of interest did you try both those numbers or just the top one? as I am pretty sure it is the lower one 1300 762 833 and do be prepared to wait.

    • Download OTL http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe *save* to your desktop.
    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
    • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
    • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
      • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt.
Note:These logs can be located in the OTL. folder on you C:\ drive if they fail to open automatically.
      • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply. You may need two posts to fit them both in.

Just wondering while you are doing what Jacee has asked who is your provider??

In any case for Monday the numbers are 1st - 1300-762-833 or 2nd - 1300-930-655 I have dealt with Nadia and or Simon on most occasions. But since I haven't been onto them for a while it could be someone else. But you need to speak to - first sales and then / or tech support - sales I have found the most helpful.

    Sorry Jacee for OT.

Now I could be wrong but I do believe I saw recently that Kaspersky and Firefox are not real pals as I noticed some refs to it within those files.

Yes I did here is one ref Firefox 16/17 add-ons & Kaspersky - Kaspersky Lab Forum &

Is Firefox 16.0.1 compatible with Kaspersky Safe Money , Kaspersky Virtual Keyboard, and Kaspersky URL Advisor? | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support

I don't know what Jacee thinks and I would wait for her reply but I would be dumping FF for the time being.
