Comodo immediately flags the leak test as a threat as soon as you try to download it, which says a lot considering most internet security suites will allow you to download anything. I had to create an exception just to get it to run, but it passes

here's the result of the firewall test:
Attachment 106129

GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2010-10-20 at 13:45:28 Results from scan of ports: 0-1055 0 Ports Open 3 Ports Closed 1053 Ports Stealth --------------------- 1056 Ports Tested NO PORTS were found to be OPEN. Ports found to be CLOSED were: 20, 21, 500 Other than what is listed above, all ports are STEALTH. TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH, - NO unsolicited packets were received, - A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

Which makes me wonder what firewall can pass their test..

If you use the Stealth Ports Wizard to 'Block all incoming connections and make my ports stealth to everyone' the Comodo 5.0 Firewall gets the following result on GRC Shields Up! TruStealth Analysis Test...

Your system has achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating. Not a single packet solicited or otherwise was received from your system as a result of our security probing tests. Your system ignored and refused to reply to repeated Pings (ICMP Echo Requests). From the standpoint of the passing probes of any hacker, this machine does not exist on the Internet. Some questionable personal security systems expose their users by attempting to "counter-probe the prober", thus revealing themselves. But your system wisely remained silent in every way. Very nice..

Ah yes, the age old debate over what "true stealth" actually means where stealthing ports is a considered a vulnerability because no ping request is returned. Give me a break! Please explain why stealthing my ports against the over 4,000 daily ping requests that are recorded by Comodo without Port Stealthing is horrible computer security that makes my computer so much more vulnerable than the invisibility of all ports being stealthed...

I'm using Comodo and get all green on GRC but only 210 on Comodo leak test. I can't see why as all my settings look good

Stealthed ports are fine but what advantage do they hold?

As is shown in the graphic I used to get over 4,000 pings from hackers on my computer in just one day and now with all ports stealthed in the Comodo Firewall those hackers get no response whatsoever from my computer and the advantage is that my computer no longer exists to those hackers because it does not respond to any of their 1,000's of daily ping requests any longer, but if you are more comfortable with hackers tracking you by getting 1,000's of ping responses from your computer each and every day then by all means do not stealth all of your ports.

I've used a un-patched, in-secure copy of Windows XP with GRC shields up and it got the result of full stealth. Same goes for my fully patched and secured Windows seven machine. From that I would gather that all these 'full stealth' status results has nothing to do with your firewall and its settings, it's all about how your router or modem is responding to GRC (my outlook on it.)

The better test for firewall stealth-ness would probably be to run a port scanner on one of your machines in your network (locally, internally.)

Win 7 firewall fails leak test
I ran "Leak Test"(from GRC Research)on windows 7 and it fails. The test penetrated the Windows 7 firewall. How big a threat is this? I have used Zone Alarm and Comodo in the past but was hoping the 7 firewall would be adequate now. Any thoughts?
