Cottonball,
Following everything I restarted the computer and decided to run ome more system repair and see what would happen.
THe screen went blank for a moment and now everything is fixed!
Many thanks for your patience and help -
Judy
JudyinHawaii,
It's great the computer boots now!!
However, there was a RootKit involved, so, don't leave yet.
I need to take a good look at the results of FRST, and then provide you with a specific fix.
Please hold off on running any scans, etc., WDO took you to no Bootmgr, and we do not want anything like that again.

JudyinHawaii,
Since you ran a System Repair after posting FRST.txt, I am being conservative with this fix.
Depending on its results, and also on the results of the tool that follows, we may have to take further actions.
Please do the following:
Open notepad (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad)
Copy the entire contents of the code box below.
Save it on the pendrive that has FRST
Save as: fixlist.txt
[NOTICE: This script is written specifically for JudyinHawaii, and, for use on her computer.Code:start C:\Windows\Installer\{fac18087-878f-e64b-c58e-4302eb99eae4} C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\{fac18087-878f-e64b-c58e-4302eb99eae4} end
Running this on another computer may cause damage to the Operating System.]
Now, please enter System Recovery Options and select the Command Prompt as done before.
Run FRST64, and press the Fix button, just once, and wait.
The tool creates a report on the pendrive called: Fixlog.txt
>>Please post Fixlog.txt in your reply.
Reboot the computer.
Now, please download TDSSKiller.zip:
http://support.kaspersky.com/downloa...tdsskiller.zip
Right-click the program and select: Extract to tdsskiller\
A TDSSKiller folder is found on your Desktop.
Open the folder, and double-click the TDSSKiller application.
When TDSSKiller opens, click on: Change Parameters
Under Additional options, place a check in the box next to: Detect TDLFS File System
Click: OK
Press: Start Scan
If a suspicious object is detected, the default action is Skip, click on Continue.
If malicious objects are found, they show in the Scan results.
Ensure Cure (the default) is selected, then click: Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process
(Note: If Cure is not available, please select Skip, >>Do not select: Delete<<)
By default, the tool outputs its log to the system disk root folder (the disk with the Windows Operating System, normally C:\).
Logs have a name like:
C:\TDSSKiller.2.4.7_23.10.2013_15.31.43_log.txt
>>Also post the TDSSKiller log in your reply.
