Do you think we should run AdwCleaner and aswMBR ? I want to remove that AVG file . I saw it in the FRST log but for some reason the log is missing .

I am sorry - I can reload. That was me (I told you I was paranoid), I removed logs once we had resolved. I have no issue you guys having the logs, of course - but I am conscious that there is personal data therein, and forums are public.

I have trust issues, apparently ... given creepers infected my darn laptop!!

    SarahCali,

    On TDSSKiller...

Please run it once again, and this time, when presented with the TDSS File System entry in Threats Detected, select: Delete

Please post the new TDSSKiller log in your reply.

It should come up with No threats found. :) That is good news.

    @VistaKing,

    AdwCleaner will be fine.

There does not appear to be a need for aswMBR.

    You are good.

Got to take care of some personal stuff, so, I need to leave, but I'm sure VistaKing will take you to the completion of this thread after he runs another program, or whatever else he deems necessary.

Good luck, SarahCali!! Glad your system is up and running!!

To remove the AVG PC TUNEUP program . Download the Revouninstaller below by clicking on the Download button below .

    Download

    Run the RevoUninstaller
Click on AVG and the click on uninstall .
It will ask you to uninstall the program. Click on Yes button.
Now select an uninstall mode. The best mode is the Advanced mode which removes all the traces of the program completely.

Click on Uninstall button. ( avg builtin Uninstaller ) once done close the builtin avg window .

Now click Next button. Revo uninstaller will check all the leftover items related to programs such as registry keys, unwanted files and folders etc. It’ll then show you the remaining traces of the program (if you chose the advanced mode) and then help you remove them.

If it locates the left over files in the registry click on select all and click on Delete . Once its done click on Next

It will scan for left over files and folders if located click on select all and click on Delete . Then click on Next

Next screen should be saying that Avg was successfully removed .

So that wasn't the best $40 investment huh? I bought it just 3 days ago, falling for the claim it may resolve my performance/BSOD issues. How very stupid of me.
