forgot my bitlocker password and lost my recovery key (USB-flash).

    if i lost a file, it doesn't mean i dropped my hard disk down the drain, but if he did loose it physically, then yes there is not much he can do. im just helping other people with this problem while im in here since that's how i role. lay out all possibilities.

    Read post #7 carefully, quoted here for your convinience:

    From the title of the thread, it sounds as if he lost the USB on which the key was stored. If that is the case, its game over unfortunately.

    Hi,
    So sorry, but if you don't have your recovery key or password, then you will not be able to get your files back. If you want to, right click on the drive and format it.

    Hi good members. If someone is trying to recover a password that absolutely should of been kept in a safe place it leaves questions that can't be answered. Who is trying to get into what and why.
    So I fall back on our Forum rules. I believe #6 will work.

    6) No discussions of hacking someones system, network, password, etc.

    The CIA probably knows how to break bit locker encryption, but they won't do it for everyone, only if one of there close friends kindly asks them to.

    Hello,
    Please help me, I lost my recovery key due to system format. After doing a recovery of the system, I found my recovery ID, opened it in notepad but the digits were invincible. After permutation, I was able to get 36 six digits correctly out of 48 digits. I stll remember my password though. What can I do

    I opened the bit locker recovery key ID but it was blank. Though some characters were ther, they were invincible.
