I'm afraid there is nothing you can - Bitlocker has no backdoor functionality.

    Bad luck

A good question would be how did you loose your recovery key? if you deleted it, you may still be able to recover it.

Forgot and lost? There is no recovery available. be more careful with such important info in the future, after you do a clean install.

why would he need to do a clean install? he is trying to access an encrypted partition or drive. not his system partition.

if he lost his key by deleting it, or it got corrupt, he could use easeus data recovery wizard, easy recovery pro, pc tools file recover, recuva, etc to recover the key he saved. its happened to me before due to a corrupt drive that had the key on it.

From the title of the thread, it sounds as if he lost the USB on which the key was stored. If that is the case, its game over unfortunately.

not the case. i have used those programs to recover deleted partitions on USB sticks, that where over written twice over and recovered 100% of the data

What part of 'lost the USB' don't you understand?

If he has physically lost/misplaced the USB thumb drive/flash drive - in other words he cannot physically locate it/find it/lay his hands on it - then there is no software in the world that will help.
