    jtkm,

    Please upload following file to: http://www.virustotal.com/
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\athr.sys

    If the file is listed as already analyzed, click on: Reanalyse file

    When the results page appears, click the down arrow with More details located below the Analysis date.
    Copy the information, which should look like the following:

    SHA256:
    a22200e90c78dfe73fe0fbeed5331ab43cd7133651fd125595c4db604ad71b29

    MD5:

    File size:

    File name:
    athr.sys
    File type:
    Win32 EXE
    Detection ratio:
    0 / 46
    Analysis date:
    2013-04-14 03:40:58 UTC ( 0 minutes ago )

    Please post the file information.

    Also, once the file is scanned, and you see the full results page on your screen, go up to the address bar at the top of the browser, and copy the http:\\etc. address there.

    Then, also provide the http:\\ address to the results page in your reply.

    cb,

    I think I see a method to your madness.

    Your trying to determine if the athr.sys file has been corrupted or not.

    Just updating you on the BSOD, directly blames the athur.sys driver, and there also seems to be some issues with the onboard graphics too.

    Thanks, jtkm.

    Just wanted to make sure athr.sys was not infected. It checks out as a driver for the Atheros CB42/CB43/MB42/MB43 Network Adapters.

    You are in good hands with the BSOD folks.

    @x BlueRobot,

    Thanks for the update.

    @Anak,

    There is no method, it is just madness!!
