Windows Defender + Trend Micro Titanium keep switching off/won't open

I was wondering if someone could help me, I have Windows Defender and Trend Micro Titanium 2013 installed on my Windows 7 laptop and the past few days, they keep switching off and I can't open the Trend Micro Titanium 2013 console at all, even after re-installing it and rebooting my laptop. Does anyone have any ideas as to they both these programs aren't working properly? Do I maybe have a virus that is causing this behaviour?

Windows Defender in Windows 7 should be turned OFF anytime another anti virus program is installed.
I'm surprised that Trend Micro didn't turn off Windows Defender when it was installed.
Never have two anti virus programs running at the same time.
Check Windows Defender and make sure it is OFF.

Windows Defender - Turn On or Off

    Make sure you reboot.

Thanks for your reply. I've turned Windows Defender off and rebooted but Trend Micro still won't open.

Do you have Malwarebytes' Anti-malware? If not, download (free version) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop
Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer
    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.Right click to run as Administrator, using Windows 7 or Vista.
    * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. Copy and Paste that log into your next reply.
