I looked at a forum and saw a similiar process to what you have advised above.

I think it also advised that you should not have any USB or External HDD while you run this - can you please clarify?

Thank you for your advice - I will post results once I run the above.

I can't help you, unless you help me too.

I have no idea what forum you looked at. If you want help here, then please proceed with my instructions using "VEW" by Vino Rosso above your last post. I can't guarantee that we will find the problem, but it's worth a look-see.

I am very sorry, I am not that well.

The link I have looked at is - Program_error_updating (0,0,I/O error) - Malwarebytes Forum

I am just enquiring as to whether or not it is similar to what you are suggesting. I am so confused on what to do. I trust you - this is the best forum out.

My apologies again. More information in future.

Thank you for your patience with me

It will not hurt to have a USB or external hard drive attached while you run the app Jacee requested.

    They are not similar.

VEW (by Vino Ross) just gathers some info from the Windows Event logs.

This way, Jacee might be able to find out what is taking down the Windows (file) Explorer.

If you feel up to it, follow this link back to Jacee's earlier post:

Then slowly follow the steps. Don't worry, even if you mess up on following the instructions, you are not going to hurt anything with VEW.

If you don't feel up to it, then you can wait for a better day, or just re-install the OS. However, it would be nice to know a bit more as to why explorer is crashing.

Hope that you feel better soon.

    Some alternatives to MBAM :
    SuperAntiSpyware (free on-demand scan/removal)
Hitman Pro (free on/deman scan, 30 days free removal, 5 av engines)
    Emsisoft anti-malware ( free on demand/removal, 2 av engines)
