Can you reboot into safemode/with networking?
Chrome because IE10 on my machine does not download. I have to go to another machine to get afresh copy of Adwcleaner on a flash drive.
I'm in safe mode with networking now.
Follow the instructions here:
Microsoft Internet Explorer
1. Click Tools and select Manage add-ons.
2. On the Toolbars and Extensions tab search for Delta Search and additional third party add-ons and remove them.
Google Chrome
1. Click on the Customize icon (wrench or 3 bar icon) next to the address bar and navigate to Tools > Extensions.
2. Search for Delta Search and additional third party extensions. Remove the extensions by clicking the trashcan icon adjacent to the add-on/extension/toolbar.
Disable the proxy settings in Internet Explorer:
1) Under “Tools” in the browser tool bar select “Internet Options”.
2) In the “Internet Options” window that pops up, click the “Connections” tab at the top.
3) Click “LAN Settings” near the bottom of the “Connections” section.
4) If the “Proxy server” checkbox is marked with a check, click it to deselect/uncheck it.
5) Click “Ok” to close the “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” window.
6) Click “Ok” to close the “Internet Options” window.
Reboot
Make sure "Proxy server" is still disabled under your LAN Settings.
Test whether internet connectivity is restored.
Reset your homepage to http://www.google.com/
Go to control panel > Internet Options, Advanced tab, click the reset button and allow it to reset everything.
Reboot and see if you can download with IE again.
I believe your Chrome browser is beyond repair and needs to be totally un-installed!
I'm back-sort of. Both Chrome and IE initially go to Delta as the search engine. Upon the search a flash player popup displays. I'm in IE right now. Will go to Chrome and do the adw download. BTW, I got rid of LYRIC FINDER AND YONTOO in CHROME. IE let me disable YONTOO but not LYRIC FINDER.
I posted before I read # 496. Which way should I go?
Are those downloads in Programs and Features? You can un-install them from there, or A full scan with MalwareBytes' Antimalware will remove all ... in fact, run the full scan and post the .txt log.
I'm back in Chrome. Looks like the TRASH CAN worked. Proceeding with new copy of adw.
Am going to run MBAM
