No, my system works great now. Do you think i'm safe surfing the internet with MSE, or i need another antivirus ? Some guys out here sais that MSE is just basic, isn't the best solution.

    brato92,

Glad the system is running good.

The search for the 'perfect' AntiVirus program has been going on for quite some time.

The different programs have virus definitions that vary, and it seems as if most of the time AV programs are playing 'catch-up'. A virus is created, and the AntiVirus then develops a definition for it. There is such a thing as heuristic analysis, but, viruses are constantly changing and evolving.

    To protect your computer...

    • Use Antivirus Software, however, do not run more than one AV at a time!! MSE, in my opinion, is as good program.
    • Use AntiSpyware/AntiMalware Software: Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware is an excellent choice.
    • Use an Online Scanner. The ESET Online Scanner is also an excellent choice. Run a full online scan of your computer weekly, if possible.
    • Use an Internet Firewall. The Windows Firewall is available, but there are others.
A search for free choices will provide other programs in the categories above. The above suggestions are ones I use, and have not paid for any security program since the year 2000. Also, if you look in the forum, you will find several discussions and opinions about what programs are best.
Last, but not least, update your Software!! Outdated malware definitions in your programs do not keep the system safe.

    Surf safely, brato92!!

Can someone help me with a similar issue? I'm getting the same "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" when I try to open MSE
